Last night’s X Factor viewers expected to see the most important episode of the singing competition to date: the one in which the judges would reveal the Top 16 contestants for season 2. Instead of being the X Factor cliffhanger episode it was intended to be (the live shows don’t begin until November), it was, as Simon Cowell Tweeted, “A total f up.”
